AI in language teaching
Artificial
intelligence has not only revolutionized productivity in organizations, but
also the way we learn. Today, educational methodologies have evolved toward
adaptive learning, an approach that personalizes teaching based on each
student's needs.
To better
understand this impact, the Preply platform conducted a survey of language
learners and more than 1,000 English teachers. The results revealed that 52% of
teachers already use AI in their teaching, with Australia leading the adoption
at 63%, while in Europe, usage is lower, reaching only 41%.
what do they use it?
And what do they
use it for? Primarily, to generate grammar and vocabulary exercises (41%),
offer language assistance (36%), and create reading and listening activities
(35%). Other notable uses include generating sample texts, lesson plans, and
course plans, as well as tools such as chatbots and voice recognition.
From a student perspective, 54% believe the future of language learning will combine AI and human interaction, while 47% consider this approach more affordable and personalized. Education is changing, and artificial intelligence is at the heart of that transformation.
